The iPGCE is an international programme for teachers with two or more years of teaching experience who want to gain a recognised qualification for teaching. This online course is designed for teachers working in an international environment to develop teaching skills and knowledge in an early years, primary or secondary context (or equivalent). You will need to be teaching or supporting teaching in an international school setting (voluntary or paid) throughout the programme.
Studying the International PGCE will enable you to develop your pedagogical knowledge through critical reflection and research. This award is widely recognised as an international qualification for teaching excellence.
Once you complete the course, you can use 60 credits towards completing a part-time Master’s in Education through our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process.

Course programme
Subject to validation
We continually develop new courses to reflect the needs of students, employers, and professional bodies. This course is currently subject to the final stage of our approval and validation process.
In the unlikely event that the course is not approved before the start date, we will help you find an alternative course.
We will introduce new students to UK academic approaches and expectations at postgraduate level.
Two 30-credit modules allow you to explore various theories and approaches to teaching and learning, whilst also sharing how these operate in your educational context.
You will undertake (with supervision) either a small-scale action enquiry or reflective enquiry project where you can relate practices to literature and enrich your approach to teaching and learning.
