Key points

The nature of disability.

The legal definition of disability is broad. Delegates will get the opportunity to explore what this means from the accessibility assurance perspective

Understand how difficult systems are to access when the user is disabled.

Delegates are given a context for testing for accessibility conformance. This will reenforce the need for satisfying our legal obligation and help delegates understand why accessibility testing is far more than just “ticking the boxes” of a checklist.

Understand the changing emphasis of testing throughout the lifecycle.

As with all features of a new system, accessibility needs to be built in from the earliest activities. The QBIT approach will ensure delegates understand the need to apply the most appropriate techniques for testing at every stage of the lifecycle.

Understand the need for appropriate deployment of accessability test tools.

Test tools are essential to test for the highest level of accessibility. Delegates will understand the purpose and need for appropriate deployment of these tools in the context of a holistic test approach.
