To enable attendees to understand what Agile development is (and is not), and how it differs from other forms of development; to describe a typical Agile project lifecycle based on the ICONIX process showing all the steps from requirements to code, the nature of continuous development in increments and iterations; to give examples of lifecycle testing strategies used in Agile, and how we manage quality and risk; to discuss the use of test techniques at different stages of the lifecycle, and how those learnt in ISEB/ISTQB are applied. Suitable for: This course is for test analysts, team leaders and managers, development and project managers and users who will have a high involvement in an Agile project.

This course is an introduction to Agile Development from a testing perspective. It explains the principles of Agile development using a risk-based approach to demonstrate the benefits. It compares Agile with more traditional approaches to highlight the key differences. It explains how a life-cycle approach to testing can be applied. Agile development depends on good skills and communication between staff, so we discuss the human side, motivation of staff and the relevance of skills taught by the ISEB/ISTQB qualifications.
