What will I learn?
You will learn about the health and care of children, young people and adults. Examine the types of organisations that provide care. Explore the rights of different groups of people in society. You will also find out about jobs and identify skills that are common in the workplace. You will work with others to make a plan for working together. Identify your role, work safely with others and evaluate your own contribution to the success of the project. Compare different types of interviews, produce your own CV and take part in an interview. This course covers the English, maths and ICT needed for working in the health and care field. Topics include caring for children caring for older people, working together, health and safety and skills for work. You will also have to opportunity to use computers, increase your confidence with maths, gain an understanding of social and personal issues, and improve your communication skills.

How will I be taught?
This course is delivered through practical tasks, discussions, worksheets, role play, presentations and debates.

How will I be assessed?
For the Health & Care certificate you will need to produce a portfolio of work, which will be assessed by your teacher. For English, Maths and ICT, you will take exams at the end of the year.

You could progress to Level 1 Health and Care courses.
