IOSH Managing Safely

Introduction

Following the IOSH syllabus, this four day course ending with an examination and assessment is an introduction to health and safety based on nationally recognised standards.

Suitable for

Directors, managers, supervisors, safety representatives, and others who have health and safety responsibilities for developing and implementing safety management procedures.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Explain the main components of HSG65/BS8800
  • Understand the role of Risk Assessments within the systems
  • Define the hazards and risks and describe the legal requirements of Risk Assessments
  • Compare Safety Management Systems with other Management Systems and describe v how to integrate systems successfully if appropriate
  • Explain the purpose and techniques of Health and Safety Audits
  • Understand the main provision of The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Understand the main provision of The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999

Duration

Four days ending with a short examination and workplace project. Successful delegates will receive an IOSH certificate.
