About this course

Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance at your last place of work or study. You are required to have 4 GCSEs grade 4 (C) or above to include English and maths. Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19, who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Course programme

Year 1

During the programme you will study the following subjects: e-commerce; procedural programming; website production; computer systems which will include hardware and software installations; computer games platforms; digital graphics; databases, and networking in which you will set up a network with IP addresses and workgroups. There will be guest speakers invited to talk about computing industries.

Additional information

Assessment is via coursework. You will need to evidence in your work that your skills and understanding are sufficient to pass each unit or achieve higher grades. Grades are pass, merit and distinction.
