The demand for IT is massive, so developing skills in this area is one of the best career moves you could make This Apprenticeship will teach you to work efficiently with IT systems and software You must be employed, but this can be in any job that involves computing (personal assistant, office support, IT support, sales and marketing, or accounts, for example) You'll mainly be based in the workplace and will visit College on a day release basis

What will I learn?You will learn computing basics and can specialise in areas related to your job: emails, word processing, spread sheets, database, digital imaging, security software, trouble shooting, IT maintenance or specialist software You can also learn the technical skills needed to become a web developer or designer Some study units have Adobe and Microsoft accreditation You will also be taught Functional Skills Maths, English and IT
How will I be assessed?The Apprenticeship is carried out in the workplace with a qualified assessor who will provide you with help and support This person will assess you every three or four weeks You will also sit exams at College
What may it lead to?You can go onto a higher-level Apprenticeship, one of the College???s full-time Level 3 Information Technology courses, or into employment in an IT-based role This Apprenticeship will allow you to achieve Microsoft Office Master status
Entry RequirementsTo do this Apprenticeship you must be aged 16 or over, have a minimum of two GCSEs at Grade D (including Maths & English) and be employed in a suitable position If you are interested in this Apprenticeship and do not have the required GCSEs or a relevant job, speak to one of our Training and Recruitment Advisers on 01227 811315
