Jane White Couture Tuition

History

Jane White trained in design, couture dressmaking and pattern cutting and currently runs an independent dressmaking, pattern cutting classes and City and Guilds micro centre school in East Yorkshire. Jane also teaches garment construction skills for the Northern College of Costume in York and works as a couture dressmaker in East Yorkshire.
Jane set up Unique Couture in 2005 in response to request for more flexible, independent, subject specific tuition in response to the lack of qualified, experienced teachers and courses for part time learners and to promote high quality practical skills.
Jane has taught adult and further education in Hull, BTech Fashion and Clothing, foundation degree and City & Guilds Fashion.
A number of Jane's students have gone onto degree courses, to run their own small businesses, to work in fashion and theatres. One overseas student returned to her own country with enough skills to set up her own business and employ other workers.
Jane works closely with learners to provide individual programmes that meet their needs, requirements and extend their skills in a flexible way to fit in with their work and family commitments.
