Never be overwhelmed or outsmarted by your overlocker again! Using either your own machine, or one of ours, this 2 hour session unravels the mysteries of threading the machine, use of different needles, stitch length and tension control.
Having mastered the set-up, we move on to the essentials of handling the differential feed, narrow overlocking and rolled hemming. Finally you’ll discover new ways to sew using stretch and challenging fabrics!

An overlocker and manual (all makes catered for). However, if you do not have a machine and would like to undertake the course prior to purchase you can you one of my machines.

Jane trained in dressmaking, pattern cutting and design and has a City & Guilds Fashion qualification (degree level) and is a fully qualified teacher (Cert Ed). Jane has worked for many years as a couture designer/maker and has breadth of teaching experience in adult, further and higher education. Jane set up UCTuition in 2005 in response to diminishing practical skills courses for adult learners. Have you just got an overlocker, are new to overlocking or having trouble taming your machine? This is the session for you. A practical session with your machine (or use one of mine) where you will learn to change the needles, easy threading, tension control using a wide range of fabrics, corners, starting and finishing neatly, narrow overlocking, rolled hemming and an overlocker make to take home with you.
Leave confident and in control of your machine.
