The King’s International Foundation – Biology & Chemistry is a specialist academic preparation course designed for ambitious international and EU students who want to study a related undergraduate degree at King’s College London.
It is a full-time course aimed to develop your essential knowledge in your chosen degree subject area, introduce you to the UK education system and improve your academic English so that you’re fully prepared for your degree.
This course is ideal if you have excellent high school grades and:

Year 1

You will study the following modules on this course:

  • Biology Foundation
  • Chemistry Foundation
  • English for Scientific Academic Purposes or Academic Expression & Critical Thinking*
  • Science & Society

*You will either study English for Scientific Academic Purposes or Academic Expression & Critical Thinking, depending on your level of English when you start the course.

The English for Scientific Academic Purposes, Academic Expression & Critical Thinking and Science & Society modules are delivered by the King's English Language Centre.

The Biology module is taught by the relevant King’s department in the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine. The Chemistry module is taught by the relevant King’s department in the Faculty of Natural & Mathematical Sciences. This means that you are taught by King’s academics during your Foundation year.

All of the modules support your subject and linguistic skills development as they encourage you to analyse concepts and develop ideas in your chosen subject area.
