2. Course description This course is a new and exciting way of studying Art and Design. Students who are interested in pursuing a career in the Art and Design industry have the opportunity to develop and refine their skills through a range of practical and theoretical Units. Working in a wide variety of art disciplines students will gain a broader understanding of the of Art and Design industry. The qualification is split into three parts; The Award in Art and Design (broadly equivalent to 1 GCSE); Certificate in Art and Design (broadly equivalent to 2 GCSEs) and Extended Certificate in Art and Design (equivalent to 4 GCSEs); all of which are run in succession over the one year course.
