This course is suitable if your job role involves training and developing training courses.

Course Content; This is an 11 unit qualification, consisting of 7 mandatory and 4 optional units. All 11 units must be completed in order to achieve the full qualification although single unit accreditation is also available. Your advisor will assist you in choosing the most suitable

units for your job role.

Mandatory Units

• Evaluate and develop own practice

• Identify individual learning aims and programmes

• Agree learning programmes with learners

• Develop training sessions

• Create a climate that promotes learning

• Monitor and review progress with learners

• Respond to changes in learning and development

Plus 2 Optional Units Chosen from:

• Enable learning through presentations

• Enable learning through demonstrations and instruction

• Enable individual learning through coaching

• Enable group learning

Plus 2 Optional Units Chosen from:

• Design learning programmes

• Prepare and develop resources to support learning

• Support learners by mentoring in the workplace

• Support and advise individual learning

• Support competence achieved in the workplace

• Support how basic skills are delivered in the workplace

• Support people learning basic skills in the workplace

• Assess candidates using a range of methods

• Assess candidates’ performance through observation

Delivery

This course can be delivered in the Yorkshire and Humber and North East England regions. On enrolment you will be allocated an individual advisor; this advisor will regularly visit you at your place of work at times convenient to you.

Course Duration

One of the main benefits of doing an NVQ with STAR is we do not set time frames on our courses. It is our philosophy that no one can fail an NVQ, it may simply take some individuals longer than others to complete depending on their current level of competence. However an average time of completion is between 12-15 months for this course.
