Course Content:

Core Subjects· Typaz Professional – The ability to touch type at high speed and accuracy. Outcomes will vary dependent on the application of the individual, but words per minute of between around 40‐60 words (and beyond) are achievable. Learners achieving 60 wpm will receive the BCS Level 2 Gold Award.· Effective Business Communication – Learn to communicate effectively in business – via letter, email, telephone and personal presentations· Microsoft Word – Introductory and intermediate word processing skills to a good employable standard· Microsoft Excel – Learn spreadsheet skills to a good business standard. This course will enable you to create a spreadsheet, enter data, formulas and functions, create charts and more.· Microsoft Powerpoint – Gain competency in creating slide presentations. Areas covered include formatting, inserting tables, pictures, sound, hyperlinks, applying transition and timing effects for a slide show· Microsoft Outlook – Learn how to share, manage and schedule information electronically· Audio Transcription – Learn to type from audio dictation using a variety of correspondence eg memos, reports and letters· Microsoft Word Expert – Learn advanced word processing skills including mail merge, graphs, macros, creating an index and table of contents to mention just a few· Three Legal Secretarial Modules – your course advisor will help you choose the three most suitable modules. Each module gives you the underpinning knowledge required in that specific area.· Teeline or Pitman 2000 shorthand (optional) – Learn the complete theory of either shorthand system.
