This course is for young people in employment just starting in
the trade or adults considering a career change.
What will I study?
This has a flexible programme involving practical and
theoretical study. You will also study for a Health and Safety
Certificate.

What are the entry requirements?
You will need to be employed in the trade to enable work based
assessments to be carried out. The full qualification cannot be
achieved without regular work experience. You will also need to
attend an interview and initial assessment.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is both practical and theoretical and includes short
tests, subject assignments and the completion of work-based
evidence books. Students also meet regularly with tutors to help
plan studies and to discuss progress.
What can I do next?
This can lead to the Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying / NVQ 2
at Lewisham College. Or employment in:

• Small firms
• Local authority maintenance teams
• Construction companies

What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
