You will need to be employed in the trade to enable work based
assessments to be carried out. The full qualification cannot be
achieved without regular work experience. You will also need to
attend an interview and initial assessment.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is both practical and theoretical and includes short
tests, subject assignments and the completion of work-based
evidence books. Students also meet regularly with tutors to help
plan studies and to discuss progress.
What can I do next?
This can lead to the Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying / NVQ 2
at Lewisham College. Or employment in:
- Small firms
- Local authority maintenance teams
- Construction companies
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
