This course provides a general introduction to working within the Health, Social Care and Childcare Sectors. Our tutors come from a range of relevant vocational backgrounds and have both vocational and teaching qualifications. Because they have worked in the vocational area they are able to use their wealth of knowledge to bring the curriculum to life and to ensure that students are developing the knowledge and skills they will need for their future studies/careers.

Course programme
You will learn through taught classes, activities, visits and work experience. Modules covered will include promoting healthy lifestyles, exploring local services and child development, alongside studying functional skills/GCSE English and Maths as required. Your course will be delivered at Leeds City College Technology Campus. Students wishing to enrol to a Level 1Learning programme will come with a range of qualifications which could include GCSE's, units of qualifications already taken or have few or no qualifications. All students will be required to develop skills in Personal and Social Development, Employability, a vocational qualification and Maths, English and ICT.
