Course Aims:
To develop skills of students wishing to enter the bricklaying industry
Course Content:
The course will include:
- Safe working practices in construction
- Information, quantities and communicating with others
- Building methods and construction technology
- Interpret working drawings and set out masonry structures
- Thin joint masonry and masonry cladding
- Build solid walling, isolated and attached piers
- Build cavity walling forming masonry structures
Progression:
Successful candidates may progress onto National Diploma in Construction (Level 3) or enter employment.
Awarding Body:
Construction Awards Alliance
Exam:
Achievement of each units is by internal testing.
Each knowledge unit also has a mandatory series of questions produced by the awarding body - CAA.
Practical assingment set by CAA.
An online test covering the core units and the occupational units must be passed in order to achieve the qualification.
