The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to work with children between birth and five years, with knowledge of children up to seven years. Learners could also progress on to the Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care or the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce.

About this course

Learners can progress into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors
• Nursery assistant • Classroom assistant • Pre-school assistant

This qualification is suitable for a range of learners from the age of 16 onwards who have little or no experience in childcare.

You should be at least 16 years old.

This qualification allows progression on to the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualifications and other Level 3 qualifications relating to child care.
