Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

The course involves completing 11 units; 10 core units and 1 optional units. The mandatory units include: Supporting the Learning Activity i.e. Literacy, Numeracy and I.C.T. - Child and Young Person Development - Communication and Professional Relationships with Children, Young People and Adults - Equality, Diversity and Inclusion In Work With Children And Young People - Help Improve Own and Team Practice in Schools The qualification is an NVQ or National Vocational Qualification. To gain the qualification, learners will require an assessment by a qualified assessor, and will be asked to produce a portfolio of evidence to show that they meet the required standard. Learners must be able to demonstrate their knowledge in practice. Attendance at College is on a part-time basis, and learners are expected to attend at least 80% of the programme. Learning is achieved through a variety of methods: attending workshops, sharing experiences, views and ideas with other learners, professional discussion, and feedback and review from an assessor.
