Course ContentAn evening’s only Level 2 Accounting course.
The course covers:
Basic accounting I:
Introduction to the double entry bookkeeping system and associated documents and processes.
Basic accounting II:
Basic Accounting II looks in more detail at the cash book and petty cash book and introduces the reconciliation of control accounts
Basic costing:
Provides an underlying knowledge and understanding of the nature of a cost accounting system within an organisation and its component parts as well as an understanding of how it operates
Computerised accounts:
Using a computerised accounting application to input and process data for business transactions including sales and purchases, receipts and payments, and to prepare management and period end reports
Working effectively in accounting and finance:
Gaining a range of transferable skills which will enable candidates to work effectively within an accounting environment.
Each unit is assessed by an examination.
