This course introduces you to the world of business. It will help you to understand how businesses work and how they affect your life and the role you play both as a customer and consumer. You will also look at how to start a small business.

The course contains both practical work-related activities and written work which forms part of your portfolio. You will develop a wide range of skills in presenting independent learning, team work and leadership, as well as studying for Functional Skills or GCSE qualifications in English and Maths as appropriate.

To be successful on this course, you will need a positive attitude, a dynamic and enquiring personality, enthusiasm to investigate new concepts and a keen interest in business.

This BTEC Diploma is a practical, work-related course.
You will be introduced to topics including business purposes, people in organisations, starting a small business, customer service, financial forecasting, business organisation, visual merchandising and creating your own website.
It is designed to encourage and develop the personal skills and qualities needed for work, learning and achieving your full potential.
English and Maths will be studied at the appropriate level and tested separately.
