The course is made up of 2 units - Exercise and Fitness Knowledge and Gym Training. Exercise and Fitness Knowledge will cover: -
· Concepts of fitness
· Bones and joints
· The muscular system
· The respiratory system
· Energy systems

Gym Training will cover:-
· Planning and teaching a safe and effective exercise session
· Principles of training
· How to adapt exercise to suit varied fitness levels and how to use a range of teaching skills
· How the body adapts in response to exercise

The method of learning is through classroom theoretical lessons and practical sessions. You will be expected to complete homework each day. For the practical assessment, candidates are expected to provide a client to teach

Assessment
This is one of the most popular and respected health and fitness qualifications within industry and is recognised by The Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 2. This qualification is a great way to kick start a career in the Health and Fitness industry.

This qualification incorporates an externally set and marked multi-choice question paper and worksheets for Exercise and Fitness Knowledge and an internally set teaching observation assessed against the national standards.

Progression
Successful learners will be able to progress onto personal trainer qualifications and other Level 2 instruction courses, e.g. exercise to music
