What is the course about?
This course is suitable for people wanting a career as a beauty specialist, either in self-employment or within a beauty practice.

What are the course outcomes?
This is a practical course which covers the following:
·Maintain Employment Standards/Health & Safety
·Provide Facial Massage And Skin Care
·Apply And Instruct On Make-Up
·Provide Lash And Brow Treatments
·Provide A Manicure Treatment
·Provide A Pedicure Treatment
·Provide Wax Depilation
·Implement Good Working Relationships With Colleagues And Clients
·Eyelash Perming

Are there any additional requirements?

Materials:
A basic kit is provided although the student will be expected to purchase materials and basic equipment as the course progresses, approximately £150.

·Portfolio & Dividers
Some items are available to order through the College.

Uniform:
Students MUST be dressed in a white tunic uniform top with navy trousers and shoes.

Other:
Candidates will need to provide a model on a number of occasions for practical assessments.

How will you be assessed?
A range of assessment methods will be used including:
Observation of practical skills - Oral questioning and written evidence. Plus external written papers for each unit. Continual assessment is carried out by an Assessor/Tutor. For assessment purposes at least

80% attendance is required.
