Makeup Techniques will introduce you to corrective and beauty makeup techniques, product types and applications

About the course
The course is held in the makeup studio and you will learn through a combination of demonstrations, workshops. The course is taught by a professional makeup artist working in the fashion and media industries. Working in pairs, you will recreate fashion and beauty looks in a workshop style session. You will be introduced to current makeup techniques such as natural daytime makeup, evening makeup, beauty makeup, corrective techniques and product choices. You will need to provide your own writing materials and a camera to record your work. The college will supply course notes and skincare and makeup products.

How will I be assessed?
You will receive a college certificate of attendance. There is no formal assessment.

Lessons: Two and half hour lessons
1. Run over course. What do you want out of the course? Tools and product choices foundation face shapes, colour wheel concealer : hand out and demo then create look with guidance
2. Natural daytime makeup, perfect skin, highlight and contour, brows : hand out and demo then create look with guidance
3. Natural daytime makeup, brows, lips, perfect liner, eye shapes : hand out and demo then create look with guidance
4. Evening makeup, perfect eyeliner, lashes, lips: hand out and demo then create look with guidance
5. Evening makeup use all techniques from previous lessons : hand out image and demo then create look with guidance
6. Beauty makeup bridal : hand out image and demo then create look with guidance
7. Beauty makeup bridal : hand out image then create look with guidance
8. Corrective techniques, scaring, pigmentation, tattoo : hand out and demo then create look with guidance
9. Photo shoot: create a finished look which is to be photographed, each student is required to bring in a model this day

• Concealer: natural, lilac, green
• Crème base foundation: light, medium, dark
• Translucent loose powder
• 8 eye shadows, including highlighter and shader (shades may vary)

• Eye emphasiser: black, brown, grey
• Liquid eyeliner: black
• Lash crème: black, brown

• Lip emphasiser: medium natural, medium synthetic, dark natural, dark synthetic
