Level 3 Certificate in Understanding the Principles of Dementia Care

Dementia affects around 820,000 people in the UK. This figure is likely to rise to one million by 2025 and two million by 2051. It is one of the main causes of disability in later life and with research being desperately underfunded, it costs the UK over £26 billion a year.

This qualification enables learners to develop knowledge and understanding of caring for individuals with dementia. Successful completion of the units will allow learners to develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of dementia and its effects.

How is it assessed?

Learners must successfully demonstrate the achievement of all learning outcomes detailed in the qualification description. The Level 3 Certificate in Understanding the Principles of Dementia Care is internally assessed.
