What qualifications do I need to study on the course?
Five grade C's or above at GCSE including CC in Higher level Additional Science and C in Maths GCSE's.
What will I study?
The course will focus on:
· Atoms, Bonds and Groups
· Chains, Energy and Resources
· Rings, Polymers and Analysis
· Equilibria, Energetics and Elements
· Practical Skills in Chemistry

Method of assessment
Each unit is assessed separately by an examination. The course includes 20% assessment of practical skills through coursework.

What will I be able to progress to?
Studying chemistry will provide you with an important foundation for various science-based degree courses including Medicine, Veterinary Science, Pharmacy and Bio-sciences. The skills and knowledge you learn, such as problem solving and analytical skills are also transferable to other options such as Engineering.
