Course review:
To understand unusual behaviour associated with dementia, the meaning behind the actions- the connection between the brain and dementia. Learners will be able to identify the possible causes of behaviours that challenge and highlight some of the warning signals that may precede these behaviours. They will also be able to recognise the importance of communication from a staff perspective and to understand the changes in communication that can occur for the person with dementia. The course will also highlight the need for a person centred approach in terms of practical ways to respond to behaviours.
