The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of the Care industry. It provides an insight into the principles and processes of the delivery of health and social care to clients and will aid career progression.The focus of this NVQ is to carry out tasks for people that may be temporarily or permanently unable to do for themselves. The course is about the delivery of health and social care to clients. This includes direct care, where the focus is hands-on care and on the development and maintenance of the client's independence. Suitable for: The qualification is designed for those people who are involved in delivering physical, emotional or enabling care to clients who have a high degree of dependency, whether in health or social care, or in the public, private or voluntary sectors.

About this course

Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care replaced the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) For England is a qualification that aims to develop the knowledge and skills for all those who wish to work in a senior role with adults in a Health and Social Care settings.

Vocational Learning encourages candidates to submit naturally occurring evidence from their workplace to demonstrate competency against the practical requirements of the course.

This course is open to anyone working in a health and social care setting. You will need to be at least 16 years old. You will be expected to have basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills in line with national occupational skills for care workers.

You are also expected to have access to the internet, computer and a word processor that can open and produce Microsoft Word Documents ending with the extension ‘.doc’. Candidates without Microsoft office are advised to consider free software such as Open Office. You, however, need to ensure your documents are saved and submitted for assessment as word documents ending with the extension ‘.doc’?

Candidates are required to achieve at least 58 credits to be awarded the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care. 28 of the credits will be achieved by completing the following 9 units. You will be expected to achieve the remaining 30 credits from the optional units. At least 6 of the credits from the optional units will need to be at level 3.
