Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport

This course provides you with a sound academic and practical foundation in all areas of sport, including development, coaching and fitness as well as elite performance and training. Students can choose to take part in football training in the Football Academy Pathway or follow the Fitness Pathway which covers a broad range of sports and gives a rich diversity of experience. All students will experience practical sporting units as well as their chosen pathway. The Fitness Pathway will take part in cross-college sports activities, whilst members of the Football Academy will play in National Colleges League.
You will have the chance to enhance your specific skills through analysis and training as well as studying games from the coaching perspective. Work placements include primary and secondary schools and also leisure centres. The programme is based on both lectures and practical skills development. All students are welcome on this year’s Sports Tour (subject to sufficient numbers).
Level 3 90 Credit Diploma/Extended Diploma in Sport (equivalent to 3 A levels)

Assessment includes written tasks, group and individual presentations, reports, video analysis and practical skill observations.
