Course objectives include:
Role of a First Aider
Safe Scene Survey
Dealing with an unconscious infant/child who is breathing(recovery position)
Dealing with an unconscious infant/child who is not breathing (CPR)
Use of a Defib
Dealing with seizures
dealing with wounds and bleeding
Dealing with bites and stings
Dealing with a choking infant/child
Dealing with fractures
Dealing with head injuries
Dealing with spinal injuries
Dealing with anaphylaxis
Dealing with poisoning
All those that work with or care for infants and children
To be able to carry out the ptactical elements of the course. There is a lot of work done on the floor.
To be able to complete the written assessment paper
