Level 3 Technical Certificate and NVQ in Plumbing

PROGRESSING PLUMBERS
The following courses are intended for experienced plumbers who wish to enhance their skills and
compentencies. Plumbers intending to conduct gas work must achieve qualifications in line with Gas industry requirements.

Technical Certificate in Plumbing Studies - (C&G 6129 Level 3)
& NVQ in Plumbing (C&G 6089 Level 3)

These level 3 courses are suitable for plumbers who have already achieved a Level 2 Plumbing Qualification.

The syllabus includes:

• Complex Cold Water Systems
• Complex Hot Water Systems (Parts 1 & 2)
• Complex Above Ground Drainage Systems
• Below Ground Drainage Systems
• Central Heating Systems (inc. Boilers and Controls)
• Gas Supply Systems (Parts 1 & 2, includes ACS)
• Improvement of Business Products and Services

Candidates need to gain relevant experience working alongside a registered gas operative in order to
undertake ACS Domestic Gas Safety assessments towards the end of the NVQ programme.

Materials
Relevant plumbing textbooks or manuals are provided to candidates, and additional training materials may be recommended. Tools and materials for use during wokshop sessions are provided by WLT. Candidates will need clothing and footwear suitable for workshop sessions.
