This course will provide the knowledge and skills necessary for you to collect evidence for your level 6 BSL NVQ portfolio.You will be required to attend six all-day sessions over a period of 2 months, during which you will gain an understanding of NVQ procedures and terminology, and how to meet the requirements outlined in the relevant qualification standards. You will set up and build your portfolio of written and video evidence for assessment, supported by tutorial feedback from your assessors.The course consists of 2 induction days and 4 days based on evidence collection. This is followed by 4 individual 1-1 tutorials to discuss your porfolio.

About this course

- demonstrate a level of understanding and skill in BSL which is appropriate to the requirements of the level 6 portfolio.- successfully complete and present the portfolio of evidence to the Signature awarding body requirements.

You will need to bring:- a camcorder- a USB stick- Portfolio folder and paperwork will be provided- Signature registration and assessment are included in the course fees- The 2 induction days and 4 evidence collection days, plus the 4 individual 1-1 tutorials are all included in the course fee.

A considerable amount of additional home study will be required.

At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
Four 1 : 1 tutorials outside course hours are also included, to go through each piece of evidence in your portfolios. The assessor will record your progress and provide feedback on each clip during these tutorials. Your progress will be regularly assessed and monitored by your assessor and internal verifier. For each piece of evidence you will write a self-evaluation of your own progress and achievement against the assessment criteria.
