You will learn the essential skills for working in the global, multi-media communications industries, including media relations, media campaigns, writing and producing for the media, media law and ethics, business skills and crisis communications management. About this course

Study methods This programme will engage you in the cutting-edge public relations issues of the day, and give you hands-on practice in applying your skills and strategies.  You will benefit from small classes taught by staff who are specialists in their fields. Classes are enhanced by guest lectures from speakers from the PR industry and visits to relevant exhibitions or agencies. Assessment structure You will have two formal assessments per module and receive regular feedback on your progress through in-class exercises and formative coursework. Students with disabilities Some of our courses encourage trips outside of the campus. If you have a condition that affects your mobility you are advised to contact the Disability Officer.

Course programme

Majors / pathways

This is an American-style Liberal Studies programme that incorporates an area of specialisation (a major), a general education programme which all students take in their first year providing a broad foundation for your degree, plus electives chosen from a wide range of subject areas to be taken alongside your major.

There is a major project in the final year of study which enables you to open out the specialist area of your major to the breadth of your learning on the whole programme.

It is also possible to undertake a dual major or one or two minor subject areas alongside your major from other subjects offered within the overall programme. Majors, minors and elective classes are offered in the following subject areas:
