LifelONG Learning Sector Level 4

Course Title:

PTTLLS - Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning
Sector for Teachers/Tutors/Trainers

Overview:

This award is for anyone wanting to enter teaching in the lifelong learning sector. This includes those working in community-based learning and development programmes, employment and workbased learning as well and those in teaching and training in the HE and FE sectors. It will also be applicable to those already working in a teaching/training role that will require a license to practice from September 2007.

Course Content:

• Understand own role, responsibilities and boundaries of
  role in relation to teaching
• Understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches
  in the specialist areas
• Demonstrate session planning skills
• Understand how to deliver inclusive sessions which
  motivate learners
• Understanding the use of different assessment methods
  and the need for record keeping

Course Duration: Four day training course.

Certificate: Following successful moderation of assignment, delegates will be certificated with an Edexcel Level 4 BTEC Award in Preparing to
Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
