The purpose of this session is to provide training for staff who are lone working in compliance
with the requirement laid down in the care Standards Act 2000 and the
Health and Safety at work act (1974)
The unit is designed to be generally applicable for
Community care support workers who are lone working, or staff who are working in small residential units of up to ten residents.
Be aware of their responsibilities to identify health and safety
risks in the environment.
• Identify the hazards associated with the work and carrying it out
unaccompanied
• Assess the risks associated with the work and decide on the safe
working arrangements to control these risks
• Record the findings of the assessment
• Implement the safe working arrangements
• Monitor and review the safe working arrangements
• Be aware of security measures in the workplace
