The course is open to all qualified and registered social workers. The course will enhance your employment prospects, since it is a condition of continuing professional registration that qualified and registered social workers maintain a record of CPD.
We offer a range of accredited 20 credit CPD modules in collaboration with partner Local Authorities and social work service providers. Modules are designed to ensure that they meet the HCPC requirements for CPD and also The College of Social Work PCF.

Research is based upon ideas about how the world is perceived and how we can develop our understanding to improve it. Research in all its forms may drive professional practice agendas - both personal and political. The dissertation module follows the social science tradition of critical enquiry. The module aim is for you to complete a piece of research with a social work focus, utilising a suitable methodology. It must be in accordance with the school ethics committee guidelines and comply with the research governance framework (RGF) of the relevant Local Authority or NHS Trust.
