About the course:
This qualification is intended for middle managers who allocate work to others, achieve results by using resources effectively, carry out policy in a defined area of authority, control limited financial budgets and contribute to broader activities such as change programme and recruitment. You will be invited to attend a series of workshops to gain the necessary knowledge and understanding which is necessary to support your claim for competence and also prepare a portfolio of evidence based on your work.
Course Content:
Candidates must complete 8 units - 5 mandatory plus 3 from a choice of 17 optional units.
Mandatory units:

Equipment Requirements:
Lever arch file, access to word processing and email.
Assessment:
You will produce a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates your competence and underpinning knowledge and understanding.
Progression:
You may be able to progress to CMI Level 5 NVQ in Management (if your job role supports this level), or Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership.
Additional Information:
You will need to identify a senior manager from your organisation who will be prepared to act as your mentor. This person will be responsible for helping you to collect information on your role in the organisation and also working with you to carry out an assessment of your personal competency. It is often useful for your line manager to undertake this role but if this is not possible another person would need to be identified who is able to comment on your job role and the way in which you carry out your tasks.
