Management Level 4
These standards are presented in units; for the Level 4 NVQ in Management you must complete 8 units, 5 of which are mandatory and 3 are optional drawn from a choice of 17. You should choose the units that are most relevant to the work you do, in which you can demonstrate that you are competent.
All managers working at level 4 are expected to develop/implement change, encourage innovation, develop productive working relationships, ensure that health and safety requirements are met and manage business processes. These are therefore the mandatory units which form the core of every Level 4 managers NVQ.
In addition to this you may well promote equality of opportunity, provide leadership, lead, plan and implement change, ensure compliance, be involved in recruitment, or development of the people you manage, manage a budget or a project, and help to improve or solve problems with customer service.
You should select three of the optional units that most closely match the particular responsibilities of your role from, from this list of activities.
