What is Manual Handling? The handling of loads by human effort. This includes lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, throwing or moving items. Why is training necessary? To prevent accidents and injuries and because it is a legal requirement under Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 which require employers to:
- Identify manual Handling operations
- Reduce manual Handling risks
- Train and inform employees
Our half-day course covers employer and emnployee duties and responsibilities, the safe working principles involved in a variety of activities, risk factors and controls and templates of risk documentation for you to use within the workplace.
