• Risk Assessment Followed By Advice On Remedial Action
• Maintaining Necessary Records
• Preparing & Using Course Notes
• Report Writing & Assessments Of Personnel

Classroom instructional techniques including:

• Preparation of material
• Obtaining material
• Presenting the subject
• Correct use of visual aids
• Questioning techniques
• Confirming trainees' understanding of subject

Practical teaching techniques including:

• Safety of trainees
• Instructors' responsibility for safety
• How to prepare lesson plans

The candidates will be subject to the following examinations:

• Practical Manual Handling Test
• Preparation and delivery of a pre-determined lecture on a Manual Handling related subject
• Preparation and presentation of practical teaching skills

Successful candidates are awarded a certificate of training which is recognised by the Factory Inspectorate as proof that formal training has been carried out.
