Course programme

There are no Core modules in this programme.

Optional Modules:

This programme has optional modules to choose from to allow you to achieve the required credits to successfully complete the award. At a research led institution, optional module lists are subject to change each year to keep the student learning experience current and up-to-date. For the optional modules available in this department please visit the department website.

Teaching:

The Master of Advanced Study course is taught by academics with a strong interest in the modules that they lecture and the projects that they supervise. The course is therefore both challenging and rewarding and expected to produce highly-qualified graduates. For example, existing MMath graduates (whose final year is essentially the same as the MASt) are highly sought after with many continuing to academia or business, commerce, and industry.

Assessment:

The taught element of the course comprises 6 modules (15 credits each) which can be taken from a wide range of options. These must be fourth year modules (MA4 or equivalent). Students are also required to do a research project (30 credits) worth 25% of the final mark.
