How will I be taught?
The classes will be taught usually by one or two teachers using a variety of methods. Some computer facilities are available both in class and on the College network.
How is the course assessed?
This depends on the grade you got in your GCSE at your last attempt.
If you got a grade E or below, you will join our 1-year GCSE groups and the three module examinations will take place in November, March and June.
Students that achieved grade D at GCSE will resit all three modules in November and will not need to continue lessons beyond January if they do get grade C.
What will this course prepare me for?
A 'C' grade in GCSE Mathematics is expected for most university courses, especially for primary teaching. It is useful to have on any CV as many employers will require it.
Private Study
As an approximate guideline AS subjects require 3-4 hrs of independent study each; A2 subjects 4-5 hrs each and GCSE subjects 2 hrs each.
What materials will I need to purchase?
Students are expected to have basic mathematical equipment and their own scientific calculator.
