Course programme

This programme covers both pure and applied maths and will develop your understanding of mathematics and mathematical processes, and your ability to reason logically and recognise reasoning. You will also extend your range of mathematical skills and techniques and use them to work on more difficult, unstructured problems. This qualification can be studied on its own or combined with other AS/A levels or a vocational qualification.
In one year you will achieve: AS (Advanced Subsidiary) Level in Mathematics. If you continue and complete the second year successfully you will gain an A (Advanced) Level in Mathematics.
You must complete a 90 minute exam for each module. Results for each module are given as a score out of 100. The total score for the three modules gives an AS grade of which A-E constitutes a Pass. You will be expected to complete some private study each week outside of class times.
