Additional Information: A*/A in Mathematics is preferred. It is necessary to be confident in the use of algebra to rearrange equations, trigonometry to find components of vectors and standard form to carry out the calculations. Physics A level is a very good indicator of a student's academic ability, and is therefore highly regarded by most University departments, including Medicine and Law. In particular, Physics is recommended for those wishing to study Mathematics, Engineering, Architecture, Science, Medicine or Dentistry. It is recommended that students should take the Physics A level course in combination with Mathematics and Mechanics A level.
