A one day MCA certificated first aid course.

Course Content
The course is designed to last for 6 hours and complies with the mandatory requirements of STCW 95. The course consists of mainly practical work in the following areas:
· Priorities of First Aid
· First aid equipment
· Duties of a First Aider
· Actions in emergencies
· Basic Life Support & CPR
· The unconscious casualty
· Treatment for wounds and bleeding
· Fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries
· Treatment for burns and scalds
· Treatment for Shock
· Dressings and bandages
· Gain radio assistance
· Transportation & high wire transfer by helo of the sick and injured

Who is the course for?
The course can be tailored to the client's specific requirements and type of equipment they have. If this equipment is to be purchased you may want to source it through the Kawns shop. Our training course should be attended by anyone who may be required to use this equipment in an emergency including first aiders and appointed persons at sea in either yachts or merchant marine vessels. It is suitable for inshore but is mainly for those who must comply with STCW 95 legislation. Can be used for Yacht master's certificate requirements.

Is the course accredited?
Yes by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency under STCW 95 and the International Maritime Organisation requirements. This course is certificated and upon successful completion the qualification lasts for three years.

Open courses can be run centrally in our comprehensive training facilities at Gosport (see below for dates). By arrangement we can provide you with bespoke in-house courses to suit your specific training needs.

How much will the course cost?
