The media production industry is in an age of rapid growth with global communication networks bringing the digital age to every home. Production Facilities at The Isle of Wight College are of a high quality, featuring dedicated Mac and PC based video editing suites running industry standard video editing software and related packages.In addition, The Media Department features the only working television studio on The Isle of Wight, with professional lighting rig, blue/green screens and vision-mixing equipment with the facility to stream TV shows ‘live’ to the internet. There has been heavy investment in industry standard kit including Canon and Sony HD camcorders and DSLRs as well as associated sound and editing equipment.The Level 2 Technical Diploma in Media and Graphics offers a broad experience of Media Production with units such as Film and TV Products, Graphic Design, Animation Production and Photography Techniques.

Course programme

At Level 3, learners will specialise in Television and Film Production. The environment is like working within a professional production company, developing a diverse range of products including music videos, short films, documentaries and television programmes.


The Media Production Studios feature the only working television studio on The Island, with professional lighting rigs, green screens and vision-mixing equipment and the facility to broadcast streams live to the internet.
