This course prepares students for a career in Media Curating. It will examine critical and theoretical approaches to Media Curating within the wider realms of cultural practice and production and offers specialist education in practical aspects of curating and exhibitions. It will also examine the policies, programming and practice of exhibitions and commissioning in museums, institutions and emerging territories. Suitable for: Postgraduate students who wish to pursue a career in Media Curating.

About this course
Graduates of all disciplines may apply. You must be socially aware, inquisitive, self-motivated and passionate about a career in curating for film, photography, sound and new media. At interview you will present a portfolio of media work drawn from theory or practice or a combination thereof. Relevant professional experience or work experience in the industry is increasingly important.

Content
This course draws on the London College of Communication's growing interest in media research primarily through its acquisition of the Stanley Kubrick Archive and the work of its two Research Centres in Sound and Photography. In addition, LCC has close relationships with the British Film Institute, Tate Modern, the Imperial War Museum and Photoworks.
You will benefit from the Faculty's central London location, which underpins excellent links with the media galleries, museums, archives and researchers. You will enter the profession with a unique set of skills and knowledge, a clear understanding of media's emerging importance as a subject of intellectual enquiry and a network of contacts established during the year.
Structure
Group and individual tutorials support your programme of lectures and seminars. Professionals working at the highest level in their chosen fields act as tutors and as visiting tutors. The Faculty believes practical experience is a key part of the training and you will be encouraged to complement your College-based learning with workplace activities.
