Course programme
This specialist Certificate is composed of three 20-credit modules:
- Learning & Teaching in Medical Education (20 credits)
- Principles of Assessment in Medical Education (20 credits)
- Medical Education for Surgical Trainers (20 credits)
The first two modules establish core principles of teaching, learning and assessment. The surgical module includes the use of assessment in surgery, practical ways of teaching in the operating theatre, how you can use simulation to enhance training and how to give effective feedback.
Delivered through an online learning environment each module is 12 weeks long and modules start in January, May and September of each year.
