Spend a day at the V&A exploring different examples of material culture in medieval and renaissance Europe. We will be looking at sculpture, metal and glassware, tapestries and ceramics. We look at changes in the styles of architecture, decorative arts and sculpture from the Romanesque through to the Gothic and Renaissance.

- Describe 2 key stylistic differences between late medieval and renaissance paintings
- Describe 2 key stylistic differences between late medieval and renaissance sculpture
- Discuss how the decorative arts were used to display status and piety.
You might wish to bring a notebook. You might wish to buy some of the books on any reading list given out in class.
Gallery entry is free. There will be a break for lunch in the V&A restaurant – lunch is not included.
