Introduction:
This unitised course provides further essential skills for employment in the barbering trade.

Study Mode & Location:
This 10 week part time course will be held at Presto College, Fulwood Campus, St. Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Course Content:
The course consists of two units:

• Providing hairdressing consultation services
• Designing a variety of looks using Barbering techniques

Assessment:
Assessments will be carried out during the course by an assessor observing and questioning your practical work. As assessment becomes more familiar, you will be able to take control in the planning of your own assessments together with the development of your portfolio (which will contain evidence of your work). The assessor will watch you working and assess your performance to a commercial time scale against national standards. You will undertake activities in a work-related environment (e.g. the College's own salon) and will be asked to provide clients for assessment purposes. All units have mandatory written paper.

Successful completion of this course will further your barbering skills giving you better job prospects, whilst maintaining the traditional barbering skills.

The price for this course is £255.

• Barbering Kit (available to purchase from Preston College) price t.b.a
• Black tunic or plain black shirt short or long sleeves
• Black trousers - no jeans
• Black shoes - no trainers

How To Apply
You may need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser before enrolling on this course.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
