Metal And Sculpture

During this course you will learn many of the practical skills and techniques associated with the fabrication of steel and aluminium sculpture. Suitable for both absolute beginners and those with a basic knowledge of the material, you will begin by learning how to safely and confidently use all the tools and machinery found within a well equipped metal workshop. On the first day of the course you will be taught how to weld confidently. You will then be introduce to the other equipment; gas powered forge, bending and folding machines, mig and arc welders, chop saw and a plasma cutter. You will then use all of these skills to make a steel sculpture to take with you at the end of the week. All materials and safety equipment will be provided, but you are advised to bring your own suitable workwear; overalls and sturdy leather boots, preferably with steel toe-caps.
